The Board of Trustees of Morley Library intends to contract for architectural and design services for interior updates to the Morley Library facility. The facility consists of three stories measuring 46,638 square feet in addition to a basement level and was built in 2004. The Library serves Painesville City, Painesville Township, Grand River, Leroy, and a portion of Concord Township by providing physical and digital resources, information services, educational programming, and outreach. Morley Library’s mission is to provide diverse information and excellent service while connecting people with quality resources in a safe and welcoming environment.
The preliminary project description includes providing an initial assessment, preparing architectural plans and a project budget for interior updates/upgrades to the Morley Library facility. The project is needed to assist the Board with planning and budgeting to address both the immediate and long term needs of the library.
The architect will provide full architectural services for the project, including schematic design and design development. The architect may also be required to provide design schematics, construction drawings and specifications, and construction observation and management services.
Architectural firms interested in being considered for a contract to provide full services should reply with a Statement of Qualifications no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024. Statements received after this deadline will not be considered. Statements of qualification should include information regarding the firm’s history; education and experience of owners and key personnel; the technical and design expertise of the firm’s staff for this type of project; previous public library projects completed by the firm; availability of staff; and client and contractor references. As required by Ohio Revised Code 153.65-153.71, Statements of Qualification will be evaluated and ranked on the basis of qualifications. The Library will enter into contract negotiations with the firm most qualified. The Library reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals in whole or in part.
